A late afternoon view

While I was scrounging up a spare battery for the boat a few of the group tried their luck casting from the dock.

Toby loves the water. He spent a lot of time being a lab.

For all the mocking Jim gives me about photography I though it only fair to post this,

and this.

That’s a great lookin’ arm!

I think there is a law that states that any trip to the lake requires hot dogs to be eaten. We decided to play it safe.

Even though it took some effort, it was nice to get out on the boat.

Good times. Hopefully we can get out there again soon.

Also at the farm were kitties. Everyone loves kitties!

After the Sweder Farm we brought Ethan over for a sleep over. Tonight we went for a little walk down the hill with Toby.

This year we headed to Alberta for our vacation. First up was a couple nights in Banff.

Next up was some time in Calgary. First up was the zoo. This visit was especially good. The weather was great for walking around and the animals were quite active.

Easily my favourite part of the zoo was the tiger exhibit. There was a big male and a female out and about. I’ve never really seen a tiger in a zoo up close let alone get a decent picture. I was very happy with these.

Here are few other animal shots that turned out not so bad. Sometimes the enclosures just didn’t work well for picture taking.

The next outing was to Callaway Park just outside Calgary. It is a great amusement park and we had a lot of fun.

We also enjoyed some great family dinners out and even did a bit of shopping. The kids might say we did a little too much, but they did get to have ice cream on every day of the trip. Yes, every day.

On the way home we took a little break at Athabaska Falls.

And that was our holiday. It went a little too fast, but we had a great time.

I mean, really, even kids were playing.

Yeah, the adults had fun too.

A crowd even showed up to watch the semi finals.

The pressure was intense.

Ice cream always helps.

In the end it was Mike and Monica that came out on top.

And there was a spider too.

It was fun night and a great visit before everyone heads on back home and on holidays. Until next year.
