Post Christmas Fun

Boxing Day

We headed out to my parents cabin to have Christmas with them and the Olesiuks. There Joshua received a special gift from his Uncle Scott – a slingshot.

We also did a fair bit of skating. My Dad has cleared and flooded an awesome rink.

Sliding

Of course we did some sliding when we got back to PG. Actually, the kids ended up doing their version of surfing on snow.

Forests for the World

Today we headed down the street to Forests for the World. It’s quite a different place in the snow. There were times where paths we’d walked many times before seemed very unfamiliar.

So far we’ve had a really great Christmas holiday. More photos from after Christmas can be found in the Post Christmas Set.

Christmas Day 2009

We started out at our house on Christmas morning. We then headed to George and Regina’s for breakfast and more gifts. After that everyone came to our house for Christmas dinner. Here are a few photos from the day.

Christmas Eve

Before heading to church tonight we decided to head outside and enjoy the new fluffy snow. I’m not sure who enjoys it more, the kids, or Toby.

Yesterday Frances captured the beginnings of a beautiful relationship.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas. Thank you Lord for giving us the only gift that really matters.

Christmas Piano Party

Tonight was the Christmas piano party. This year, Hannah, Josh and myself are taking lessons so we all decided to take part. Hannah played Away in a Manger on her own, and all three of us played a medley of Away in a Manger and The First Noel – with six hands. The kids did great and filled in where I went a little quiet.

Decorating Begins

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Frances had some garlands up this week and today we put up the tree.

We’re really looking forward to Christmas in the new place.

S O L D

Is there a sweeter word in the English language? Not to us right now! Our house is officially sold – sticker on the sign, papers signed – DONE! We are so happy this was completed before Christmas. The closing date is Dec. 17. It was definitely a lesson in patience for us as we never thought it would take this long, but sometimes things don’t happen in our timing, do they? We thank God for bringing these buyers to us and allowing it to go through at this time. So now we breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy our new home. Come visit us – we have furniture now.

Sliding

The kids went sliding in the backyard for over 2 hours. I’m still pretty much out of commission so I got out the 70-300mm and did my best from the kitchen window.

The kids were also keeping the dogs busy going up and down the hill. We’re dog sitting my parents black lab, Haley.

Happy Day!

With the help of my Dad, Jim and Grant we finally have our living room furniture at home. It has been at our old place for staging up to now. It was time.

We’d like you to meet Toby. At least we think he’ll be Toby. Even though he was a total surprise for the kids I think that Frances and I were just as excited.

It’s official. He’s Toby.
