Wow. Last night we saw Elton John, in Prince George. It really is crazy that he is playing small venues like ours. Crazy, but, we are not complaining. The show was awesome. It got better and better, for over 2 and a half hours. He played pretty much every song you hoped he would. Rocket Man was so good. It morphed into about 3 different songs, and lasted 10 minutes or so, but you could always tell what it was. Here’s a little bit of Your Song, the final performance of the night.
We were in Jasper over the weekend to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We had a great time again. We hiked the Sulphur Skyline Ridge trail, soaked in the Miette hot springs, ate a great dinner, did a little shopping, and relaxed.
I’m pretty sure that this is the same buck that was around on June 19. This time he was perfectly happy to hang around while I took some pictures and shot some video. During the video you’ll see the kids are with me on the deck, really close to the deer. I shot the video with the 50mm f1.8 as there wasn’t any zoom required.
When the video is playing, hover over the video and make sure HD is ON for the best version.
This Canada Day weekend we were back out my parents’ cabin on Tchesinkut Lake. What a great time we’ve had so far. This year Mike and Julie came out with their 3 kids. We haven’t had the best weather but we’ve made the most of it. We tried our luck on the lake but didn’t end up with anything but windburn and a chill. We’ve kept busy around the fire, on the tractor, getting the dogs swimming, learning to split wood, and eating. Mike made some rather large and tasty burgers and my mom cheffed up an amazing prime rib. Enjoy some photos.
J learned to wield an axe.
His very own wood pile.

Delightful burgers. Mike outdid himself.
M & D with the grandkids.
Let sleeping dogs lie.
Josh gets in some casting before we got the boat in the water.
Toby was being a little ambitious.
Mmmm. Waffles.
Kubota Kids
Yep, we were busy. Most of us got in the odd nap as well. Happy Canada Day again.
Happy Canada Day everyone. We had a great day today. We helped our friends move into their new home and hung out with the Naegeli grandparents. After that we had smores by the fire. We even tried a family picture. I’d say we got good and lucky with this one.
Tonight I took the kids out to my parents’ house to get our trailer ready for the summer. After I was done I decided to wander around and point my camera at things. In a short period of time I was quite happy with three quite different shots.
This morning we were sitting on the deck, enjoying our coffee and watched this nice buck have his breakfast. He would look up when he heard the shutter, but wasn’t at all worried about us. Very cool.
