Sun and moon

It’s been a little quiet around here. We’re planning on doing a photo update on the house soon. It’s amazing how long it takes to get all the little things done :)

For now, this is one reason we appreciate this place so much.

Christmas at Tchesinkut

We’ve been having a great time at Tchesinkut Lake for Christmas. It was really nice spending it with my parents and the Olesiuks. We even got some snow. We’ve all eaten too much and had a lot of fun together.

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas holiday!

It’s great to be home

We’ve been back in our home for a little over a month. It has been fantastic to be back and to have things feel familiar. We’re not living for the next decision or milestone, but for the first time in nearly 15 months, just living.

Yep, these views are surely part of the reason why we love this place so much. It’s great to be home.

We’re moving in!

It looks like we’re getting to move in on Tuesday. It’s been a long 13 months and we’ve got so much to be thankful for. We’re really happy with how the house has turned out. It’s familiar, yet a lot has changed.

Here’s one last shot of some cabinetry in our bathroom. We’re still a bit amazed that this is our bathroom. The cabinet maker really went above and beyond for us. I’ll post more on all the great people and trades that helped to put our home together a little later.

Getting closer

It feels like there are new things happening everyday. It’s great to see so much progress. Here’s a look at what’s happened over the last few days.

The cabinets have arrived! We unloaded them all this morning and the boxes have been placed in our bathroom, kids’ bathroom and even the kitchen has started. Exciting times for sure. We’ve also had a lot of the light fixtures hung and a lot of the mill work has been done. Still a few baseboards and railings to go.

This place filled up fast. There’s even a bunch in the garage, den and upstairs. Good times.

The work continues

More great things happening at the house. The siding is almost done. The rock work is almost done. We’ve got the deck done and railings are up. The posts underneath the deck have been cladded. Our closets have great shelves. Our shower has been measured for glass and it’s been uncovered. All the other bathroom tile is done as well, but it’s still all covered up. The painting will be done today. The interior doors are being stained. We’ll be delivering the hardwood on Monday so that installation can start next week. The list goes on. Things are moving fast. So great.

The front. Not much siding left to go now.
