Last weekend we headed to Whistler, BC for a quick family vacation. We hiked every day. What a great place to get outside.
We started by going across the Peak to Peak gondola and hiking up the Blackcomb side.
On our last full day we hiked the Joffre Lakes trail. It was excellent.
What an amazing province we live in.
Well, once again we got outside to take a family photo in the snow. Nice job guys!
Josh missed his Christmas piano recital so he played during the offertory this morning. I couldn’t get a camera behind him to record it he let me do it at home this afternoon. Nice job J.
We spent the weekend in Smithers to see the end of the first annual Smithers Festival of Trees and to attend our staff party. We got to take a nice walk in the snow. Sadly, as we left it was raining. This morning in Prince George we’ve got nice fresh snow and now it’s warming up and melting too. Hopefully we’ll have some snow that sticks around for Christmas.
The Leboes and Olesiuks
We headed out to Telkwa last weekend for a Father’s Day hike. It was also Scott and Gavin’s birthdays. You can check out a post and photos here: Return to Hunter’s Basin.
There are also a few more photos in this Flickr Album.
Josh has really stepped up his game. Here he is playing “River Flows in You” by Yiruma from his piano party tonight.
It’s been a little quiet around here. We’re planning on doing a photo update on the house soon. It’s amazing how long it takes to get all the little things done :)
For now, this is one reason we appreciate this place so much.
We’ve been having a great time at Tchesinkut Lake for Christmas. It was really nice spending it with my parents and the Olesiuks. We even got some snow. We’ve all eaten too much and had a lot of fun together.

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas holiday!
We’ve been back in our home for a little over a month. It has been fantastic to be back and to have things feel familiar. We’re not living for the next decision or milestone, but for the first time in nearly 15 months, just living.
Prince George beneath the clouds yesterday morning.
Prince George under the fog this morning.
Yep, these views are surely part of the reason why we love this place so much. It’s great to be home.
It looks like we’re getting to move in on Tuesday. It’s been a long 13 months and we’ve got so much to be thankful for. We’re really happy with how the house has turned out. It’s familiar, yet a lot has changed.
Here’s one last shot of some cabinetry in our bathroom. We’re still a bit amazed that this is our bathroom. The cabinet maker really went above and beyond for us. I’ll post more on all the great people and trades that helped to put our home together a little later.
