The cabinets are progressing quickly. Thomas has worked non stop since arriving on Friday.
The cabinets have arrived! We unloaded them all this morning and the boxes have been placed in our bathroom, kids’ bathroom and even the kitchen has started. Exciting times for sure. We’ve also had a lot of the light fixtures hung and a lot of the mill work has been done. Still a few baseboards and railings to go.
More great things happening at the house. The siding is almost done. The rock work is almost done. We’ve got the deck done and railings are up. The posts underneath the deck have been cladded. Our closets have great shelves. Our shower has been measured for glass and it’s been uncovered. All the other bathroom tile is done as well, but it’s still all covered up. The painting will be done today. The interior doors are being stained. We’ll be delivering the hardwood on Monday so that installation can start next week. The list goes on. Things are moving fast. So great.
Thanks again for following along.
We celebrated Frances’ and Hannah’s birthdays at RuthsChris last night. What a great dinner. Pretty great that our September birthday girls got to have their birthday dinners on Maui.
You can check out all of our Hawaii photos on Flickr. I’ll keep adding over our last 5 days too.
Here’s what’s been happening. More siding. Ceilings are done. Priming of the walls is done. Garage doors are on. Baseboards and trim are going on. Interior doors have been pre-hung before staining.
Now for the storm. In the next 3 to 4 weeks we’re expecting painting, tile, hardwood flooring, finish carpentry like stairs and fireplace, stone work and maybe even cabinetry. We can’t wait!
Well, we have our first thing being installed that will actually be a finished item. Our master bathroom tile needs to go in so that our tub can be installed. The tub needs to be installed so that the plumbing can be hooked up through the kitchen ceiling which needs to be patched back up so the drywall can be finished. Phew!
We also have the first few bits of siding trim up. The trim colour will be what’s around the garage door and the main colour is what is visible on the corners.
We’ve got drywall! Things are moving quickly inside. There have been a lot of decisions made over the last week about vinyl decking, railings, gutters, facia, stone, interior doors, interior trim and the patio. Thanks Frances!
